The clips are the reason to buy these. Patented no-slip jumbo clips in silver, each fitted with a locking center pin, hold onto a waistband far more stubbornly than an ordinary clip and are sized to match the two-inch band they sit on. That band is washable elastic, crossed at the back, with a brown leather crosspatch double stitched and embossed with the maker’s logo. Everything else about the pair is conventional, which is reasonable enough, because the clip is where a work suspender either earns its keep or quietly fails.

Contractors are the intended wearers and the 48 inch length is cut to fit men up to about six feet tall. Two inches of width spreads the weight of a loaded belt across the shoulders instead of leaving it hanging on the hips all day, which is the whole argument for wearing suspenders on a site in the first place.
