Description
Not a conventional clip-on. These fasten to a belt rather than to the waistband itself, using plastic fixing clips designed for that job, so they suit anyone who already wears a belt and wants the weight off their hips. The strap is 47 inches long by 1.5 inches wide, made from polyester and rubber webbing with leather through the middle, crossed in an X at the back. The distinction matters, because these will not hook onto a waistband on their own. A belt is part of the system.
Everything about the build points at work. Plastic clips and plastic adjustment buckles mean no metal against a waistband, no scratched belt and nothing to catch on a jacket. The X back spreads weight across both shoulders and takes strain off the lower back, which is the point when you are lifting, carrying or on your feet for a shift. Seven colors are listed: black, brown, navy, gray, khaki, white and army green, the last two the most obviously utilitarian of the set. Army green and khaki are the colors that turn up on a site or in a workshop, while black and navy pass unnoticed under a shirt.
One size covers most men, since the elastic stretches and the buckles set the working length. Worn under a shirt they disappear. Worn over one they read plainly as work gear. They pair with jeans, shorts or trousers without damaging any of them, which is more than can be said for a toothed metal clip used daily. The rubber content in the webbing is what gives it recovery under repeated load, and the leather panel at the back stops the X join from twisting where the straps meet. Both are details you notice only when they are missing.
